Kingsley House Is Now a Listed Location on Styled Home Studios

“Visiting Kingsley House was an absolute joy. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Duncan and Craig’s passion for hospitality is the real deal, and that’s exactly what makes a brilliant Host. Creators want to feel genuinely looked after before and during a shoot day, and Duncan and Craig do that instinctively, then step back and give teams the space to create. The house is a dream to shoot in. Light-filled open-plan rooms, beautifully styled interiors, landscaped gardens and even a folly give photographers and filmmakers endless options. It's just as perfect for brand events, workshops and corporate away days, offering teams an inspiring change of scene within easy reach of London. And then there’s Hudson! In our experience, the pets of the house often find their way into the final images, and Hudson is already a seasoned pro. We know our Creators are going to adore him as much as we did, and we're thrilled to welcome Kingsley House to our curated collection of design-led locations.” Helen Holt, Founder

A particular problem faces anyone looking to hire a beautiful space for a shoot. The best homes are buried inside expensive agencies, and the rest are scattered across listing platforms with no quality filter whatsoever. You either pay agency rates for access or spend hours sifting through properties that look nothing like their photographs. Neither feels right.
Helen Holt and Tamaryn Balleny set out to solve that problem when they founded Styled Home Studios in late 2022. Helen is an award-winning photographer whose work has appeared in Vogue Italia; Tamaryn runs a bespoke high-end interior design practice, Tamaryn White Studio, and was confident enough in the concept to open her own home as the platform's very first location.
Together, they built a curated UK marketplace where photographers, filmmakers, brands, and stylists can connect directly with hosts — no agency middlemen, no opaque pricing, and no nasty surprises when the invoice arrives.
The founders personally vet every property on Styled Home Studios before it appears on the platform. They are looking for styling, character, and genuine shoot-readiness: spaces that will do real work in a frame, not just look presentable in a listing photograph. Kingsley House, we are pleased to say, passed.
What Shoots Work at Kingsley House?
Built in 1906 in the Arts and Crafts tradition, Kingsley House sits in the Surrey Hills with the kind of architectural detail that simply cannot be replicated on a set. Original fireplaces, wide oak floors, and windows that throw the sort of diffused natural light photographers spend careers chasing. The marble bathrooms — veined, weighty, genuinely beautiful — are the kind of spaces that make a product shoot feel effortless. The grounds offer shade and open sky in equal measure depending on where you point a lens.
The house works for brand shoots, editorial photography, interior campaigns, and filming. Hudson, our Great Dane, is technically available for casting (see the latest Rivals!) if the brief calls for it, though he will need final approval on any creative direction.

Transparent Booking, Direct Connection
One of the things we appreciated most about Styled Home Studios is how straightforward it is. Pricing is listed upfront for every property. Creators book by the hour or by the day, and they deal directly with the host rather than through layers of coordination. If you have a question about the space, the light at a particular time of day, or whether the dining room works better before or after lunch, you ask us directly and we will tell you exactly what we think.
