While Kingsley House offers peaceful countryside seclusion, you're never far from exciting things to do, see, eat, or explore. Right on our doorstep is the South Downs National Park, with endless walking trails, local vineyards, and charming country pubs. Historic towns like Arundel, Farnham, and Guildford, with spectacular castles and vibrant shopping, are nearby. For food and drink lovers, Silent Pool Gin Distillery offers award-winning tours, and Goodwood is famous for its horse racing and motorsport events. Haslemere, with its boutique shops and cafés, and Petworth, known for antiques and art, are delightful nearby towns. Kingsley House is a few minutes from Haslemere with good access to independent shops, cafés and walking routes.

Here, you can switch off completely, knowing that Haslemere station is only a four-minute drive away, offering direct trains to London. The house itself, built in 1906, has been lovingly reimagined and renovated to the highest standards, ready to welcome guests once more.

Kingsley House is well placed for exploring Surrey and West Sussex. We are close to the South Downs, Midhurst, Chichester and Goodwood Racecourse, so the house works just as well for walkers and wine lovers as it does for those attending Goodwood events. Many guests book us as a B&B near Goodwood because it's an easy and comfortable base. Others book the whole house and fill it with friends for a celebratory weekend, pre-wedding party, wedding or birthday party. Booking the whole house means it's all yours, with Duncan and Craig offering their bespoke service throughout your stay.
Walks from Kingsley House
In addition to the walks right on our doorstep, Kingsley House sits at the start of the Serpent Trail, one of the South of England's most rewarding long-distance walking routes and one of its least crowded.
The trail runs 64 miles from Haslemere to Petersfield through Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire, passing through Blackdown, Marley Common, Woolbeding Common, Petworth and Midhurst before finishing at Petersfield. Both Haslemere and Petersfield are on the London Waterloo line, which makes a car-free walking break straightforward: arrive by train, walk to the house from the station, start the trail the next morning.
The Serpent Trail starts near Swan Barn Farm, a short walk from the house. The Greensand Way passes close by and is accessible on foot from the front door. Blackdown, the highest point in West Sussex, is a twenty-minute drive away. The Devil's Punch Bowl at Hindhead, managed by the National Trust, is twelve minutes away. Frensham Great Pond and Common, with good heathland walking and outdoor swimming, is fifteen minutes west.
